So I opened up my inbox for the first time since December, and promptly found 707 emails. Of those, about 660 were spam. Well, I guess that means fewer emails for me to answer! There are still a lot of them, though, so forgive me for giving some shorter-than-usual answers.

Dear Lucy,
Since you're all into music, I was wondering what you thought about the following subject. Analog DJing vs Digtial DJing. Or, rather, vinyl vs cd.
Personally, all of the DJing I've done in my life has either been a playlist setup over the internet using Winamp or another such program or on CD players, either two decks or one and some fast reflexes and programing (Halloween two years ago, that was a bitch.) I did try with vinyl once and I hated it. Vinyl pops and cracks, even if your record is clean. It feedbacks too easily and you can't instantly start it at a point and continue. The only real thing vinyl DJing has, in my opinion, over CD DJing is scratching. CD DJ players can fully emulate that (it's just playing sound forward and backward at a set rythym, you can even do it with Winamp), but it really isn't the same since you're using a jog wheel and not an actual disc (although I believe Pioneer now has a full 45 emulation now with a huge vinyl jog wheel that even has grooves). CDs are crystal clear. You can fix a CD and prevent it from skipping. You can also instantly start a CD and even loop parts of a track on certain CD players, giving an EASY advantage over vinyl DJing in my opinion. Also there is no feedback with a CD player unless you hookup the wrong cord or something.
So what do you think? What are your ideas on digital DJing vs analog DJing?
- Kyle

I don't know. My forte is music that's already been recorded, not music that is being mixed live. I do have a DJ friend, though, so I'll ask him for you and get back to you.

Dear Lucy,
I understand that sexual activities have slowed down lately, and just am wondering why? It seems before you could barely go a week without sex *COUGH*http://www.badlydrawnkitties.com/index.php?id=20020301.GIF*COUGH* and now its like your hardly sexually active at all. Could this be because of Fisk going to the military? Or maybe because Zig zag never makes appearances anymore(I really liked her, too.). And you and Jazz's relationship seem to be completely different from past relationships. ... Please, Lucy. Tell me of your sex life. xD
-Love,
The squiggly lesbian.

Seeing Lydia and Dirk so happy together has kinda made me re-evaluate the way I was living my life. I was a bit too crazy, a bit too slutty. I decided to calm down a bit. I still have fun with Zig Zag, and particularly Jezzebel, but you're right. My relationship with Jezzebel is different. Not too different, but... well, that's a whole other topic.
So my sex life is still there, but other things take priority now. And also, my mom lives with me now, so...

Dear Lucy,
First off, I am not emailing to ask the following:
A: Will you have sex with me?
B: Why not?
3: Can I see you naked?
I am, however, writing (Typing, whatever.) To ask this:
What made you start appearing in this (and possibly others I haven't seen) comic? I know it couldn't be the pay, so I'll assume it's the diverse range of people you get to "meet". Is this correct?
Also, how do you deal with the torrent of idiocy streaming from emails (such as this one)? Does it involve hurting things?
The One and Only,
Varn

I didn't have a choice. Mat just started drawing.
And I just roll my eyes and answer the emails.

Dear Lucy,
I was recently reading through the old strips until I came across the one about Dirk getting fleas, and then I was surpried to see that you were 'slagging' my birthplace, hookers are practically non-existent Singapore! But I don't really mind though, according to the fact that I moved to Scotland a few months ago (evil villainous laugh). So can I at least have a teeny lil' apology anyway?
thanks!
PS: How would you like it if I made a little flash movie about BDK?

Okay, sorry. It was the first place that popped into my mind.
PS: For copyright reasons, please don't.

Hey Mat,
Someone's using your Lucy address to send some sort of virus. I'll include the full message if you want (complete with headers) later.
--Matt

Well, it's been about eight months now, so there isn't much I can do. For future reference, when you want to say something to Mat, write to Mat. He checks his email every day, while I check mine with very questionable frequency.

Dear Lucy
I though you two were going to do the “Son of pink panther” sex to stay warm during the snow storm…but that would screw up the comic a bit…
Blackcat

"Son of Pink Panther" sex? I don't know what that is.

Excuse and pardon me, but are your characters based on better days, or is better days based on your characters? Please reply as soon as possible. I don't care about Dear Lucy, I only care about this reply.
Better Days Biggest Fan,
James...

Both. If you don't care about Dear Lucy, don't write to me. Questions like this should be directed to Mat's email address. Now, this email is eight months old, so it's possible you did write to Mat and he already replied, but so many people write to Mat through my email address that I don't mind repeating the fact that they shouldn't as often as it takes.

Hi,
I was just writing to tell u that I wanted to send u a pic of zig that I drew and scanned on the computer, but it wouldn't send it because of the size. I have no idea why. But if I could have a mailing address I could send that and I have others of u, Lydia, and me if I was a kitty. And I do have one more question. Is it hard getting a girlfriend when ur bi? Thanks for your time!!
Ashley Shanholtzer

Try shrinking the image. If it won't send because of the size, it's probably a vast picture some 2000 pixels wide that I wouldn't be able to view properly anyway.
And not really. There are fewer bi and gay girls than straight ones, so the pool you have to choose from is smaller.

All I got to say is, I think you're cuter than Jenny at "Tennessee Cats" comics.
Signed,
The guy who drew Jenny.

Thanks! That's pretty high praise, given the source.

hey lucy...i just want to say, that i'm a guy, and i too, am bi. i think the bullshit you have to go through just isn't right. no one knows that i'm bi...i just cant get the courage up to tell anyone. i just want to say, that you're a very awesome person for being comfortable and open with your sexuality. I think you're a pretty sweet role-model.
sincerely,
Jordan.

And thank you! Being gay or bi can be pretty rough nowadays, with the world's shift toward... um... conservativism. It's a tougher form of discrimination than racial issues, because the conflict is considered one of morality. How a girl putting her tongue in another girl's vagina is more immoral than a guy putting his dick in there escapes me, but I'm not a conservative fuckhead.

Alright, sex with the brother cool as hell, i wouldnt plow my brother but, my brother isnt fisk. Is your brother the only relative you bang? Also lets get to the interesting steamy Counter strike moments. You caught Lydia and mentioned that everyone experiements, so is there anything behind that? Also what are your thoughts on BBW cats? I think it would be interesting for one to maybe be in a future comic, or maybe im just being creepy? O_O Hmm..myes. Well i loved the white mage costume that you had during the halloween business. Very 8-bit theatre of you. Also last question but have you had a bad sexual encounter with any of the girls/fisk that you've been sleeping with? I mean embarassing or some such. Just love!
-cilla

Fisk was, yes. As for Counter-Strike, everyone tries it sooner or later. I don't know what a BBW cat is. Thanks for the praise, I liked that costume too. And yeah, I've had some embarrassing experiences. I think everyone has. I don't want to go into detail, though.

Dear Lucy,
I just wanted to say that you totally rock for the memo to the Sonica writing staff that Mat put up in the March 30th comic. Very well put, and very blunt in just how many screwed up people are in music.
And I don't think you need to apologize. On that note, what are you going to do about Vincent Rann?
~ T'laren

This is the problem with answering emails from March. Issues like this have already been resolved. Sorry I didn't reply sooner!

Theme sounds good, Might I suggest the song The Hell of It from Phantom of the Paradise, written by Paul Williams as the Kurt Cobain Theme Song?
Okay. I'd personally probably go for "My Hero" by Foo Fighters, though. Another good one is "Epitaph" by the Age of Electric. "She read your words on my TV / So much anger in her grief / A candle lit for you / And the words you wrote, they sang with so much truth / More than you could ever know."
Boy, the music world today needs another Nirvana so badly. Just... without the drugs. White Stripes, I'm looking in your direction.

Salutations. I am Evil World Leader. I write fanfics for a living, and am starting a web cartoon. My questions are:
1.) How do you type with three well-formed fingers and an opposable thumb?
2.) (For Mat) Mat, don't you think it sucks, having so much pressure to take all of this?
3.) When did you first meet Lydia?
Back to my ranting. A friend of mine joked about another friend liking this website, and I took a look, to see why he thought it was funny that this other friend liked it. I am very obsessive-compulsive, and therefore had to start from the beginning. I would've stopped, but since I had seen the last one, I had to read the whole series. It's a pretty good comic, I guess, and I give Mat my compliments.
Evil World Leader

You write fanfics for a living? How much does a job like that pay?
1.) A modified hunt-and-peck style with just my index fingers. I know where all the keys are, and I just watch to make sure I'm hitting them all. I can type at a pretty amazing speed even with two fingers.
2.) Mat? Sometimes. There you have it.
3.) That, my friend, is a story that could easily go in the comic someday. So I'm not going to answer you.
In closing, thanks for the compliments, I guess.

Dear Lucy,
As a fellow inhabitant of this earth, allow me to congratulate you. You and your friend Lydia, as well as the exploits of those around you, actually make me laugh. Hard. I think that you need to be more often praised for the joy you bring to all of those who look into your life through Mat's scribblings.
Now I have a question: Are there no humans in New Talia? Or is Mat to lazy to draw them in? Or do you just not have any friends who are human? It just occured to me that I haven't seen any of my nonfurry race.
Also, I would like to ask a question for a furry... well kinda... buddy of mine. He's descended from cobras. He was curious if New Talia was as discriminatory of reptialians as they are in the States, and your personal view on reptilian anthros.
Thank you for your time,
Noah

Thank you! I always enjoy hearing nice things like that. On to your questions.
What's a human?
In this world, reptiles have not evolved into anthro versions. It's strictly a non-primate mammel thing.

Dear Lucy,
First off, I'm a big fan. Secondly, you being a music journalist and all I wanted to ask you a question about your opinion on the mainstream Heavy Metal scene. Do you think these new bands such as Slipknot, Linkin Park, etc. are breathing new life into metal, or are the signaling it's stagnation. With some many bands coming out recently, and many of them being just copies of others, I have shied away from most mainstream metal and started listening to Progressive Metal such as Dream Theater and Ayreon. So, basically what is your opinion on mainstream Heavy Metal?
Thanks for your time,
Patrick

Okay, first of all, Linkin Park are not heavy metal. They are alternative. I know a lot of people don't like that term, but I think it's as valid a name for a genre as, well, heavy metal. And Linkin Park aren't breathing new life into anything. They couldn't even breathe new life into themselves after one album. Some people call music like Linkin Park and Korn and Limp Bizkit "nu metal." No. It's alternative.
Secondly, Slipknot and System of a Down are the only mainstream heavy metal bands I can think of offhand, and System of a Down are only mainstream because they keep releasing singles that are more alternative than metal. I say this from experience; I was shocked at how heavy the rest of the Toxicity album was after hearing the (beautiful) singles from it. Other metal bands only have a cult following. Look at Probot. They have Dave Grohl, and when was the last time you heard them on the radio?
Personally, I don't see the attraction to heavy metal anyway. I don't listen to a lot of it, so I don't know how much it is progressing or stagnating right now. I will note that it is only the more alternative, less metal-sounding songs that get played on TV or radio, and the fact that there are so few metal bands with material unique enough to break through to the mainstream must say something about the progression of the genre. Mainstream doesn't necessarily mean quality by any means, but radio stations don't just randomly pull out songs full of soundlessly thrashing guitars and screaming singers to add to their rotation. The songs need to have something unique about them, and that is what most heavy metal doesn't have. Listen to Toxicity and compare the singles "Chop Suey!" and "Toxicity" and "Arials" to non-single songs like "Jet Pilot" and "Bounce."

Dear Lucy,
It often occurs to me that people like yourself occasionally become aware of being drawn. From artist to artist, the style that you are rendered in changes; with this, though, you also become subject to the artist's particular assumption of your character. Most often this assumption boils down to shameless display, and while I've certainly never had a problem with that, it makes me wonder just how you wish to be portrayed. The money shots are always nice, but I can't help wondering if you ever get tired of it. So I guess my question for this e-mail would be, if some random artist were to offer to draw you on your terms, what would those terms be? =) And additionally, how do you feel about being the subject of so much cheesecake?

Draw me on my terms? Um... I don't know if I really have terms. Oh! Wait! I don't want to be drawn wondering how I ended up looking so different from how I normally look. And I'd rather not be drawn shamelessly lusting after a signature character of the artist's. That's about it.
As for cheesecake, most of it is in Mat's private collection, so I don't really care!

Dear Lucy,
I had an idea (insert alleluias here). While Lucy is mourning, Fisk could return as an angel or spirit or whatever, maybe 'cause that telepathic connection that Lucy has with him creates a bridge between heaven and Earth for them or some crap like that. The first comic of his return can include the explanation for his... well... return, and end with something like Lucy saying "how about we ditch the robe for old time's sake...". I've got nothing. Except only Lucy can see him, giving the rest of the crew the thought that her depression has caused here to create an imaginary friend. Pointless, but easy. I think. Whatever. Ninjas will kill you all. Yay for BDK!
-A sorry excuse for a ninja

A) This should have gone to Mat.
B) Mat doesn't take submissions for plot ideas.
C) Despite my feelings on the matter, Mat wrote Fisk out of the comic for a reason, and the idea was to specifically stop Fisk from returning.

Dear goddess of liberalizim, musicism, and other -isms,
So I was one of those lucky bastards living in Chicago that got to see the 'Killers' in concert earlier this month (May 12) and my gods, what a good band! Played all of their best songs, threw out 4-5 new ones, which all sound fan-fucking-tastic and yet, I got to say, seeing them on SNL and that damn MTV I was worried that they really were not all that good live, but yet in concert, they were FAR better than CD, and I know that shouldn't amaze me, yet I still couldn't get their shitty SNL performance out of my mind... are bands just that fickle in how they play, when, and where? Bah, maybe they were just trying to impress Bono, who was there believe it or not. Meh, I guess I'm asking, well, I love the Killers, great band, but I'm just a LITTLE worried that they won't live far... I mean, ok... is it just me or does anyone hear a tiny bit of 'The Beatles' in them? Not that I mind! Just, does it or will it work?
Meh, otherwise, what do you think of the new Gorillaz album coming out? Having them as my FAVORITE band, I'm really excited, and having heard their new single already, I'm REALLY hopeful but I figured their might make another top grade musical experance, seeing as how its almost all done by a computer, crazy... so yeah, the Killers, Gorillaz, and just to throw in for good messure Daft Punk... I'd like to hear your opinions on these bands as they progress in this crazy mixed up world.
Inny Faux

I'm not too worried about the Killers' future. I think they're a real good band, and I don't have the same kind of hesitance toward their future abilities that I have about Evanescence. As for concerts, I think their singer just needs more experience performing. I've only seen them on David Letterman, and I thought the singer seemed a little bit too reserved, like he wanted to go crazy on stage but didn't want to go too crazy, so he ended up not going crazy enough. Once he learns not to worry about how he looks and just do what he wants, he should be a lot better. My example here would be Thom Yorke of Radiohead, who tends to dance like an idiot when he isn't playing guitar. His ability to so obviously lose himself in the music and the moment is one of the things that makes him a great frontman.
Obviously, the new Gorillaz album has come out since you sent this email. The loss of Miho Hatori really hurts, and I think Del Tha Funky Homosapian should have done all of the rapping. I think it's pretty bland until the eleventh track, and then it becomes excellent for the last five. In much the same way "Clint Eastwood" was perfect on their first album, "Fire Shooting Out Of A Monkey's Head" is perfect on this new one. So the first ten tracks are mediocre to good, and the last five are outstanding.
Daft Punk are great, always have been, and hopefully always will be.

"Okay, so Lydia asks Lucy why she's writing music. Hey, my door is closed. I'd like to play World of Warcraft. I should be thinking of a comic. I sometimes walk to Tim Hortons while I think about what to draw. I don't want to do that. So Lydia wonders why Lucy's writing music. There's that Darth Vader head from the top of that Slurpee. There's the iced tea bottle I won an iPod with. Trillian is running. What time is it? Almost 3:30. Maybe I should sit down and draw. I don't know what to draw. So Lydia asks Lucy about music. There's some grease stains on that piece of paper. Should I recycle it, or throw it out? Damn, why can't I stay focused? I bet it was all that caffeine. Oh yeah, I have ADD. I bet that doesn't mix with caffeine well. There's my World of Warcraft manual."
BUWAAHAHAHA... Oh yes! I know exactly what you mean. Been there, done that, got the shiny.
Fortunately for me, caffeine has no deleterious effect on me - I spent 22 years in the Navy and frequently lived on just coffee for long periods.
It would break my heart if I had to give up my coffeecup.
Here's hoping everything goes well for you - I enjoy the so-called Badly Drawn Kitties and look for the new one every weekday.
Cordially,
Moses Lambert

Thank you, but again, please send messages intended for Mat to Mat.

Dear Lucy,
I've read the archives, and I have a quick question.
Or two.
As I was reading, I finally noticed, you appear to be (mostly) a black cat. Do you hold guns sideways and think of your your piercings as bling?
And how's your luck? Have you considered your life very lucky or unlucky as a whole?
Thanks,
Tara

I don't hold guns at all. And I hate the term "bling."
As for my luck, overall, I'm gonna say it's been pretty good. I have a job I like, $1.5 million, good friends. My brother is dead, which sucks a lot, but I'm not goign to let that ruin all the other blessings I have.

Hey Lucy been reading BDK for a while, which I think your great in..ok to the question which I don't know if anyone has asked before i read most of the dear lucy things....well anyway back to the question do you and fisk share that esp thing that twins supposedly share? If so whats it like....like when hes thinking of sex do you start..lol.Of course I know your trying to tone it down a little but a think that Lydia once said that it's really all you think about.Hmm for the first time writting its gettin fun...well cyah
Dan-

We did, actually. That's how I knew he had died. But I tried to block it out whenever possible. Do you know what it's like having to feel it every time your brother is overjoyed at having killed someone?

Dear Lucy,
Maybe it's just me, but I notice that New Talia's population is mostly cats. Is the lack of other species just regional, or is the greater population of the world cats? Do you ever wish that your coat had more color or pattern to it, instead of being black-and-white? Do you ever wish that your coat was completely black, or completely white? I'm sorry for my next question, in case it discomforts you to talk about Fisk, but what rank was Fisk? What do you know about his work in the military? His death has left many unanswered questions. I will understand if you do not wish to or are unable to answer my last two questions.
Take Care,
-FW
P.S. Do you believe that forks are evolved from spoons?

There are lost of different species all around the world, but the population in New Talia is mostly feline, yes. The mix varies from place to place.
I like my black and white fur.
I don't know what rank Fisk was before he went into whatever special thing he was a part of. I know it was his job to sneak around and kill specific people instead of being part of mass military operations. I really don't like thinking about that side of Fisk's life. It pains me to know that my brother was capable of things like that.

Dear Lucy,
I just got into the comic, and I think it's awesome, though, I do have one or two questions. Will you have sex with me? (rhetoricle question I know since you aren't real) and ask mat why the hell did he have to go and kill fisk?! I wanted to see some more of that hot male sex action between dirk and fisk before he died. One final question, Why are there not more nude pics of you and lydia and basically all the other characters on the comic?
The (other) bisexual feline,
Proffesor Kool Kat

A) No.
B) Well-documented personal issues between Mat and Jay Naylor.
C) Because most of the times we're doing interesting things, we're dressed.

Dear Lucy,
I rather have a lot of questions really to ask you, but if you wish to not answer them or give me a N/A i will not mind, I do not want to step over my bonds onto your privacy.
1. Out of curiosity and this may be a dumb question but did that chair to the head hurt like a dresser falling on your head or a tv falling on your head?
2. How did you like being a wrestler?
3. Do you like to kick any guy in general bewteen the legs or is their another reason to it?
4. May I ask, and I believe you explained this before but I am still lost, what ever happened to Zig Zag?
5. This will be my last question to ask, I believe you most have noticed this or been brainwashed not to. Over the total time from the start have you ever noticed that your's and Lydia's Chests have gotten larger over the years? (you don't hav eto answer this if you feel it to personal)
P.S Thanks in advance if you answer my questions and I hope you have a good day

1. Being hit in the head with a chair is its own kind of pain. I actually moved my head down as the chair was striking me, trying to lessen the impact, but it didn't work too well. They told me later that I was supposed to raise my arms to partially block it. Oh well.
2. It was a lot of fun! I wish I could have done more of it.
3. Heh. I only do stuff like that to guys who annoy me. I was annoyed at the whole wrestling concept at first, which was why I was so excited about the kicking thing. Then the crowd started cheering me. You can't help but like hearing hundreds of people erupting in pleasure when you kick a guy in the nuts.
4. Zig Zag and I decided that we weren't well suited for a girlfriend relationship. We're still friends, and we still mess around now and then, but we aren't an item.
5. Did you notice that we also became curvier? Move your eyes to places other than chests, man!

Hey Mat,
Have you ever crossed into the states to sell things at a Fur con, and are you self-emplpyed like me doing this stuff?
I need some help..
Thanks,
-Loopy

Please direct all questions for Mat to his own email address. Mat?
No and no. Sorry!

so i read through the entire bdk archive and then looked at 'better days' now im torn between the two comics after reading that forum thread about the disagreement between the authors on the one hand 'better days' is a comic with great art and well written dramatic (if somewhat disturbing) character development and events, but the authors a right wing dick! whereas bdk is childishly drawn and riddled with lame jokes of the calibur a 12 year old would write but the author seems cool. Do i read the comic thats good or the one with a cool author.
-foxdemon

The one with the cool author.

Hello
I have really liked your comic for some time and wanted to give something back ^_^ Sorry it's not cash. But I did sit down and make you this fan art. I hope you like it.
I think you're still doing a great job. Just two days ago (to get some inspiration) I read through the entire run so far. I really enjoy your style of humor.
Thank you!
Your fan,
-Misty Caldwell

This email came with a picture, which will be included in the forthcoming Lydia/Dirk wedding fan art thing. Thanks Misty!

Dear whoever happens to be answering these things at this particular moment,
A few questions...
1) When do we get to see succubus-Lola?
2) What is Lola's boyfriend's reaction to this development?
3) Have you ever been in a relationship with a Svengali?
- Three of the most evil people to ever exist: Dorian 'Gray' Josef 'Stalin' Remington.
(PS) I love that word... Svengali.. Svengali... Svengali...
(PPS) The third of those most evil people ever to exist is me.
(PPPS) Evil is in one's nature, and while what one does is partially a reflection of one's nature, whether or not one is a bad person is really up to that particular person. That's right, I'm looking at YOU, J-Lo!
(PPPPS) Enough Post-Scripts for you?

You already have by now.
Lola doesn't have a boyfriend.
A what?
After that it just kinda devolves into stuff I don't understand.

Dear Lucy,
(Oh dear lord, this email is long.)
Question number one:
What are your views on pornography, and the censorship of nudity and sex in all forms of media?
My opinion: There is nothing morally wrong with pornography. It is just depicting someone in their natural state, whether that is just naked, or having sex. If the person who is "posing" doesn't like doing it, then they wouldn't do it at all. Sex should not be a thing that is ignored and pushed down in society. Sex should be embraced (pardon the pun), because it is a natural and wonderful part of life, if the two (or more) participants are willing. I'm sick of people censoring nudity on TV, but letting a scene where a guy is getting torn apart show plain and clear. (Quoted from one of my posts on The-Betrayed Forums.)
Question number two:
I am having trouble deciding which kind of tattoo to get (ex: tribal, japanese character, etc.) Do you have any recommendations? *smiles*
Question number three:
What is your view on organized religion? Do you like/dislike it in general, or just certain aspects of it?
Question number four:
As the (human) Furry community continues to grow, what do you think the media's reaction will be?
Question number five:
It seems that it is getting more and more popular to produce violent and depressive music these days. Along with that, it seems that the latest trend is for a person to hate everything! What is your opinion on this craze?
-----------
ON A SIDE NOTE:
I suggest that you check out The-Betrayed Forums. It is a game forum mainly, but we have a swiftly growing section for Furry enthusiasts, and we even have one of the most popular Furries, FurryNeko. (His website, www.furryneko.com, was assaulted a while ago by the Something Awful site.) This is not just a forum for yiffing and the like, it sometimes has very intelligent conversations, and even has a music section. *wink* It also plays host to an assortment of talented writers. (Even I have a story there. "Tanto")
-------------
Yours truly,
Josh
P.S. Sorry for the length of the e-mail.

Okay, guys, this is a textbook example of an email that is way too long. Apologies for length don't help me edit these things into HTML, you know. This email even had spaces between the paragraphs, and I don't know if you've noticed, but I edit those out. Please, don't write emails that are this long, and don't double-space. Now I hardly have any time or energy left to answer.
Answer one: I don't think we need nudity in mainstream places. We also don't need violence. I say rein them both in.
Answer two: Something.
Answer three: I'm a Christian.
Answer four: They'll fuck it up.
Answer five: It got old ten years ago. Bands need to cut it out. I'm looking at you, Linkin Park.
SIDE NOTE: No. I don't participate in community-style forums.

The strip for the 25th has me completely lost. What is that "rebuild" all about?
Cordially,
Moses Lambert

This is another one that should have gone to Mat. Please, think of who you expect to answer your emails before you click the emailing link. Mat? It was a joke between myself and Amber Panyko from DMFA. The joke was that she kidnapped Lola and drew her as a busty succubus. In this comic, I am turning her from a well drawn succubus back into a badly drawn kitty. It's a play on the Bionic Man.

Hello. We're Peekaboo Press, an independent comics publisher specializing in adult manga-styled comics and graphic novels, and a division of Purrsia Press. We're looking for furry artists to contribute to our upcoming title, Yiff-rific!, and wondered if you would be interested. Please look us up and email us back when you can.
Thanx,
Jer Alford-Editor/Publisher

Are there any emails that are actually for me and not Mat here? Mat, what do you have to say about this? The best way to make me lose interest in something is to use the word "yiff."

Call out Gouranga be happy!!!
Gouranga Gouranga Gouranga ....
That which brings the highest happiness!!

I think this is spam, but even if it is, it belongs in the dictionary next to the entry for "WTF"

i'm a fan of this comic but i was wondering, what happened to the people? its only Lucy and Lydia. What happened to Dirk and all of them anyway? I'm just wondering
Ahem...
mat@badlydrawnkitties.com
Mat?
They are still around, but the main characters are Lucy and Lydia, so they get most of the attention.

I know you haven't really heard from him in a while, but do you have any idea when Fisk will get back from his "campaign against the evils of the world".
I do miss him so, his cheeky smile, laid back attitude....buff body, soft fur...oh! and I especially his relationship with you - he seems to make you so happy.
P.S is he invited to the wedding?
Love from
The SuperKorpse

An email from someone named "the SuperKorpse" which assumes that Fisk is still alive and points out some of the nice things about him. Is this a joke?
Fisk died months ago.

...Sad really, this whole BDK and BD thing.I love Jays's comicand I love Mat's comic I’m not convinced that either side is guiltier in the matter than the other. Its sad that they let themselvs be torn apart over such things.... Seriously, you think two friends, or at least one, would have been able to simply and politely ask the other to drop the subject before it ruins their friend ship. But...some times that's not the case, and things end as they do. I can only hope that some day the two are able to see past their differences and become friends again. I find loosing a friend over political or religious beliefs and opinions to be physically and emotionally sickening. But, with how Mat and Jay seem to take cheep shots at each other as they do, and seem to be playing a round of never ending blame game, that doesn't look like a possibility. Very sad, very sad indeed.
Sorry to start off a letter like that. I just wouldn’t feel right if I didn’t say something. This whole “Dear Lucy” thing is open opinion right? Any ways, I have three questions for you. Your big into music, I’m not so much. But I want you personable opinion on my taste in music, be as brutal as you see fit, I won’t hold it against you if you decide to resort to a few choice words as well. My favorite bands and artists are Scum of the Earth, Ozzy Osbourne, Marilyn Manson, Rob Zombie/White Zombie (Can you consider the two in the same spot?), Orgy, Daft Punk, The Crystal Method, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Drowning Pool, Mega Death, Metallica, Insane Clown Posse, Esteban, Black Land (My dad’s friend with these guys. I feel special), Blind Guardian, Rammstein, Franz Ferdinand, B52s, The Cranberries, Nine Inch Nails, INXS, and Slipknot. I have a hell of a lot more...but I’m sure your tired of reading that by now.
Second, furry and anthro haters are out there, there's no denying it. I recently got furry bashed by a group of them. I ignored them the best I could, but what would you have done in my situation?
And last, what your take on drugs? Specifically weed.
Sincerely yours and hoping to see more of your adventures~ Anthro Cerberus

Sorry Anthro, but Mat and Jay aren't going to be friends again. If you'd like to know why, I suggest you try to get to know Jay. And for the record, there actually wasn't an opportunity to ask one or the other to drop the subject. You'd have to know the specifics of the falling out to understand what really happened, and I'm not gonna go into that here. You can email Mat if you really want to know. Or Jay, for that matter.
Your taste in music is very heavy, kinda hit or miss, but mostly hit. Good for you.
I would have ignored it too. I would have just shrugged and gone, "Eh."
Drugs are so stupid. If a person needs to alter the chemistry of their brain as a way of enjoying themselves, there's something wrong with them. Even weed. Marijuana might not be as dangerous as some other drugs, but the basic idea is the same. I actually feel the same way about alcohol, too. I don't see the point.

Hey Lucy. I had some time inbetween studying for classes so I thought I'd drop you a line. Not sure if you're still doing the Dear Lucy's but I'd still like to hear back from you when you have time. As for your catching the bouquet I have mixed feelings. I'd be cool to see you long term relationship, but I know you'd be breaking a lot of hearts being perminately off the market, mine included. You and Jezzebel are a really cute couple though and I love how you interact with eachother.
Onto the question(s) on my mind.
(1) How would the populous of New Talia react if I, a human, lived there for a spell? I know that the population is predominately feline, but it still seems like it would be a cool place to live for about 5+ years before I moved somewhere else. Plus, the U.S., while I do love it, is getting too arrogant and pigheaded politically.
(2) This is my obligatory music question. Reading your Dear Lucy posts and Mat's comic based on your's and Lydia's live's I've think I've developed an idea for your thoughts on most of my favourite bands except for two. CAKE - a southern California based band. If unfamilliar look into Sheep Go To Heaven, Pentagram, and/or Wheels. The other band is The Streets. I'm pretty sure you know who these guys are.
Well, thanks for mulling through my novel. Looking forward to your future and love the new house.
Wayne

You think you had mixed feelings? Try being the one who caught the bouquet.
(1) You couldn't live here. New Talia and humans exist in different realities. Sorry. I suggest Canada. It's less arrogant, and it's close to the US.
(2) Actually, I have a better idea of who Cake are than the Streets. Cake are very good, though their singer has an occassionally annoying way of talk... I mean, singing, and I feel that they use that trumpet too much. A trumpet is an odd instrument that should be used only occassionally, not on every song. The Streets ring a bell, but I can't think of who they are. A British band, as I recall? If they are, and they aren't some kind of Hives/Vines/Libertines style punk savior band, they're probably either experimental and awesome or bland and boring. You can decide for yourself which category they fit into. Ask yourself... are they closer to Radiohead or Coldplay?

Hi.
This is for your wedding blow-out. I don't know if this is the email I am supposed to send this to, so if you wouldn't mind letting me know if you got it at least, I'd be most grateful.
I hope you like it.
Sincerely,
-Misty Caldwell

This also came with a picture that is going in the fan art thing. Thanks again!

I also got 707 emails, but far fewer of them were from people. So I guess that means I got more spam. Oh well.

Wow, I didn't even notice you replied to the email I sent you last December until just now. O.o I hadn't been keeping up on Mat's site much. I'm sorry to hear you can't make it to our reception, but I'll send you and Dirk something nice for your wedding (whenever it is). Oh yeah...have you guys picked a date?
In the meantime, I saw the picture of your new piercing on Mat's site, and it looks pretty cool. I damn near cracked up when you said "Bling bling." I just got my left ear done on the last day of the year. I was surprised it didn't hurt at all, though I'm sure you know that. Pips (my wife) got her left eyebrow done. She said it hurt for a while, but not a lot, and it went away after a couple days. We got married the day before the end of the year so we could do our taxes together and claim credits ($3500 back, baby!).
Anyway, enough rambling from me. A question for you: if I happen to start a show, like a sitcom or something, would you be willing to cameo? Not often, just whenever you have time.
- Calagain

Oh, don't worry. I didn'y notice that you sent this email (dated February 7) until just now! As you no doubt know, we're already married. Yay!
As for the piercing, it hurts a bit at first, but I'm used to it, so I don't notice much.
And the question... um... I guess.

Call out Gouranga be happy!!!
Gouranga Gouranga Gouranga ....
That which brings the highest happiness!!

Your suspicion was correct, Lucy. It was spam.

dear Mrs. Savagewood ( if you don't mind me saying that)
I am a fan of BDK and i just wanted to congrat you and Dirk on getting hitched and such. I am very glad that through the thick and think and the D&D phase of your relationship that you to are now together in matrimony. I wish you both the best of years and that BDK keeps its steam. Have fun in hawaii and uhhh, u might want to get some cream for yourself, the grass skirts can give a rash... but please don't ask why i know this. Anyway congrats and have a great future

I don't mind you calling me that, but I will mention that I kept my last name. I'm still Lydia White. Lydia White-Savagewood? That sounds weird.
The less said about that grass skirt, the better.
